CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services

 

This qualification reflects the roles of community services, case management and social housing workers involved in the managing, co-ordinating and/or delivering of person-centred services to individuals, groups and communities.

At this level, workers have specialised skills in community services and work autonomously under broad directions from senior management. Workers are usually providing direct support to individuals or groups of individuals. Workers may also have responsibility for the supervision of other workers and volunteers and/or case management; program coordination or the development of new business opportunities.

Delivery modes

Distance/Online –  Our distance/online delivery mode is where you learn in an asynchronous manner i.e., you work at your own place and never undertake a class face-to-face with a trainer and other students. You will have access to your learning resources and submit your assessments through our online learning management system aXcelerate, and your learning is supplemented with email or telephone contact with a trainer.

Blended – A combination of trainer led workshops (either in the classroom or remotely in the virtual classroom environment) and distance learning components. This model offers flexibility but also the benefits of face-to-face delivery.

 

Pre-entry requirements
A competent level of literacy and numeracy is required to complete this qualification.

Work Placement

To achieve this qualification you will be required undertake a mandatory 100 hours of work placement with a suitable employer.

This program is targeted at those already working in the community services sector. In order to achieve the 100 hours of compulsory work experience, you can use your current workplace to log the hours for this course, whilst supporting people to enhance their independence and well being.
