After extensive research and consultation with the disability sector, this course was originally established by co-founders Joel Robinson (Ambulance Attendant) and Leanne Innes of Disability First Aid (Pty Ltd). Now in partnership with Essential Skills Training and Recruitment, this course has been tailored to extend on traditional first aid training. It is designed for ALL people wanting to gain vital skills and knowledge to assist a person with a disability in an emergency.
The standard first aid course provides you with the skills to assist people in an emergency, however it does not teach the skills often required to save the lives of people with disabilities . The 10735NAT Course in Disability First Aid uses the principles of first aid and teaches you to recognise and apply the variants required for a person with a disability. It uses a combination of theory and practical elements, providing critical skills in the following key areas:
Blended – A combination of a face-to-face trainer led workshop and online/distance pre-learning components.
Approximately 10 – 12 hours. This includes the distance/online pre-learning component and a (6) hour classroom practical workshop.
To gain course entry you must;
Note: The online pre-course theory and knowledge quiz should be completed PRIOR to attending the practical workshop.
$260 per person.
