On successful completion of this course you will be issued a statement of attainment for;
- 11270NAT Course in Disability First Aid, including the unit of competency: NAT11270001 Provide first aid to a person with a disability
Experience a blended learning approach that combines essential online theory with hands-on practical training.
- Online Self-Study Component: You will be required to complete a compulsory self-paced online theory and knowledge quiz in our learning portal prior to attending the Disability First Aid workshop. The online quiz contains multiple choice questions and doesn’t need to be done in one sitting. You should allow (2) to (3) hours to complete this part.
- In-Class Training and Assessment: Participate in (6) hours of in-person practical training. You will engage in simulated scenarios, CPR and critical first aid techniques for individuals with disabilities during emergencies, allowing you to apply what you’ve learned in a realistic setting. Please wear comfortable clothing, as some mild physical activity is involved, and arrive at least (15) minutes early.
Remember, the compulsory online self-study and knowledge must be completed before attending the in-person training.
To gain course entry you must;
- Be aged 16 years or over. Students under 18 years must have parent or guardian consent to participate in this program.
- Have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
- Have the ability to read and write English
- Have a current First Aid Certificate – HLTAID011 Provide first aid.
- Have access to a computer and reliable internet connection, and basic digital literacy skills to complete the compulsory online self-study component of this course.

To enrol, you’ll need to complete an Online Enrolment Application and Student Declaration. Payment must be made on enrolment. Once your enrolment is confirmed, you’ll receive an Enrolment Confirmation Letter that includes details about your Disability First Aid workshop booking and access to your student portal for completing the compulsory online theory and knowledge quiz.

- Cancellations Made Less Than (3) Business Days Before the Workshop: No refund will be given **
- Cancellations Made More Than (3) Business Days Before the Workshop: Are entitled to a (80%) refund of fees paid **
- If The Workshop Is Cancelled By Essential Skills Training and Recruitment: A full refund will be given, or can be held in credit for a future workshop. Please know that we strive to avoid cancellations.
** The fee retained by Essential Skills Training and Recruitment is required to cover the cost of staff and resources which will have already been committed based on your initial intention to undertake the training. We’re happy to consider special circumstances, such as medical or family emergencies, on a case-by-case basis.
Date Swaps: If you need to change your workshop date, you can swap dates up to (3) business days before the workshop. You’re allowed (1) date swap, but please note that if you don’t attend the new workshop date, no refund will be provided.
