CHC42015 Certificate IV in Community Services

This qualification reflects the role of community service workers who design and deliver person-centred services to individuals and/or groups. Workers may provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services. At this level, workers may be autonomous with limited responsibility within established parameters and may be required to supervise and lead other workers in projects or teams. Work may take place in a range of community service, case work or case management contexts.

Distance/Online – Our distance/online delivery mode is where you learn in an asynchronous manner i.e., you work at your own place. You will have access to your learning resources and submit your assessments through our online learning management system, and your learning is supplemented with email or telephone contact with a trainer. Virtual or in-person support sessions are also available. Please note; depending on the units chosen, you may be required to attend some face-to-face sessions.

Blended – A combination of trainer led workshops (either in the classroom or remotely in the virtual classroom environment) and distance learning components. This model offers flexibility, but also the benefits of face-to-face delivery.

• be over 18 years of age
• be working in a community services organisation which provides sufficient opportunity to develop competency in the assessment tasks. Access to clients is essential. Suitable roles can include but is not limited to; Community Services Worker, Welfare Support Worker, Youth Worker, Case Worker or Manager, Team Leader and a range of other roles in the community service sector.
• have the Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills at a minimum of an ACSF Level 3, sufficient to allow you to interpret documents, prepare written reports complete and maintain documentation and communicate effectively with clients, families and colleagues.
• have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
• have the Digital Literacy Skills required to complete the course in the distance/online and blended learning environment.
• Access to a computer with reliable internet and email access, a web browser and word processing software,
• Access to a computer or mobile device with a camera and microphone to interact in the virtual classroom environment.

18 Months

There are 15 units to complete. 7 Core units and 8 Elective units.

The price for this qualification will vary and is based upon specific eligibility requirements for government subsidies available at the time of your enrolment, that can contribute to the overall course cost. We will determine your eligibility for any subsidies available as part of our pre-training review process. You will be issued with a quote detailing your exact course fee before your enrolment is finalised.

On application of enrolment, you will complete a Pre-Training Review interview with one of our Customer Relationships Officers and on online Language, Literacy and Numeracy Assessment (LLN). The purpose of this process is to; ensure that this course is both appropriate, and the most suitable course option for you, determine if there is any additional support required to assist you with your training, and what Government subsidies (if any) might be available for you to access. You will then be sent a link to complete the online enrolment form and student declaration to finalise your enrolment.

Please note: The LLN assessment is an online quiz and is not suitable for completion on mobile phones. You should allow 30mins – 1hr to complete the LLN assessment.

Please note: You will not be charged any fees until we have been able to assess your eligibility for funding. A $0 amount will be shown in the online application. The Customer Relationships Officer will provide you with a quote for your course fee as part of the Pre-Training Review process. On acceptance of the quote, a deposit will be required to finalise your enrolment.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

This course has been superseded and is currently in a teach out period. Essential Skills Training and Recruitment can only deliver this qualification up until the 6th December 2023. If you decide to enrol in this qualification, you need to be aware that if you don’t complete it before 6th December 2023 you will need to transition to the updated qualification where there are additional requirements. The additional requirements will depend on what units of competency you are enrolled in and how these have changed within the updated qualification. We will work with you to minimise the impact of transitioning to the new qualification as much as possible, however you may be required to complete some additional units and gap assessments which are designed to bring your knowledge in line with that of the new qualification.
