HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid

In this course, you will learn the skills and knowledge required to be able to provide a first aid response and life support, manage casualties, the incident, and other first aiders, until qualified emergency help arrives at the scene of an incident.

Qualification Issued: Statement of Attainment – HLTAID0011 Provide first aid

Components Included:

  • HLTAID009 – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • HLTAID010 – Provide basic emergency life support
  • HLTAID011 – Provide first aid

This qualification is valid for 3 years. The only component of this qualification that may need to be updated, is the CPR component. The Australian Resuscitation Councils recommends that CPR is renewed annually.

Eligibility criteria:
A competent level of literacy and numeracy is required to complete this course.

This course also requires you to be able to kneel to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on a manikin that is placed on the floor. If you have any limitations that may affect your ability to perform this, please contact us to discuss prior to booking.

ALL students must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI) number prior to commencement of any course or any issuance of any certificates. You can get your USI here.

Mode of Delivery and Course Duration:
Blended. This course comprises of on online pre-course theory component, which includes a knowledge quiz, and a 1-day (7.5hr) face to face classroom practical workshop.

Note: The online pre-course theory and knowledge quiz MUST be completed PRIOR to attending the practical workshop.

Cost: $120 per person

The health and safety of our staff and students is paramount. ESTR has implemented a range of protective measures in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

We ask that if you have any symptoms or feel unwell, not to attend the face-to-face workshop. We would strongly recommend that you go and be tested for COVID-19, place yourself in self isolation until you return a negative result, and contact us about transferring to another workshop (when available).

All students must sign in with the NSW Government COVID App and have their temperature checked on arrival at reception. Anyone with a higher-than-normal temperature (over 37.4 °C) will be unable to attend the class and will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
